We are now done with half of 2016 and the number are in for both Boeing and Airbus. (You can check out the numbers for Jan-May here: Boeing vs Airbus Jan-May 2016). Below are tables detailing the exact numbers for the two manufactures.
Orders
Boeing had the lead in orders, both the gross orders and net orders after cancellations. As always, single aisle planes make up the bulk of both companies’s order books. The significant lowest orders are for the double decker 747-8 and A380. The table below has all the exact numbers:
Single Aisle | Dual Aisle 767/777+a330 | B787/a350 | B747/a380 | Gross Total | Net Total | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Airbus | 160 | 38 | 27 | 2 | 227 | 183 |
Boeing | 270 | 19 | 17 | 4 | 310 | 288 |
Combined | 430 | 57 | 44 | 6 | 537 | 471 |
Deliveries
Boeing also had the highest number of deliveries between the two. Some interesting numbers to point out is that the single aisle numbers are almost identical (only 4 airplanes more by Boeing). Boeing then has the evident lead in the dual aisle airplanes like the 767, 777, and 787 versus the a330 and a350. Airbus does have the majority of deliveries of double deckers with 12 a380s versus only 3 747s. The table below has all the details:
Single Aisle | Dual Aisle 767+777/a330 | B787/a350 | B747/a380 | Total | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Airbus | 244 | 28 | 12 | 14 | 298 |
Boeing | 248 | 56 | 68 | 3 | 375 |
Combined | 492 | 84 | 80 | 17 | 673 |
