Atlas Air and Boeing Agreement to Convert 767 Aircraft

An order today to convert nine Boeing 767 passenger aircraft into Boeing Converted Freighters, or BCFs was announced by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings and Boeing. Previously, there were four orders belonging to an unidentified customer announced at the Farnborough International Airshow in July.

The BCF program is a freighter conversion program, which transitions passenger aircraft into freighters, extending the lifetime of an aircraft.

Boeing currently forecasts there will be 400 widebody conversions over the next two decades. A strong demand for 767 freighter conversions is also evident due to the rise in e-commerce.

Atlas Air, based in Purchase, New York, operates an all-Boeing fleet.
