Boeing Reveals Aircraft for United States Air Force T-X Competition

Boeing has produced two production T-X aircraft in partnership with Saab AB. Revealed today, the trainer aircraft will demonstrate to the United States Air Force its performance, affordability, and maintainability.

The Boeing T-X is an all-new design, specifically catered towards training purposed with the US Air Force. The aircraft has one engine, twin tails, and an advanced cockpit with embedded training. Ground-based training and maintenance friendly design are also offered for long-term supportability.

The Air Force’s current aging Northrop T-38 Talon training aircraft will be replaced by the Boeing T-X. Initial operations are slated for 2024.
