Airbus Delivers First A350 for Delta

Toulouse, France – Delta officially took delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft today, July 13, 2017. This marks the first delivery of an A350 to a North American carrier. Before 2017 ends, Delta will be taking delivery of 4 additional A350-900 aircraft. The Atlanta, Georgia based carrier has a total of 25 of the type on order and will at first use them on transpacific routes from its Detroit, Michigan hub.

Current routes available for booking on Delta’s A350 are as follows:

From 30 Oct 2017: Detroit (DTW) – Tokyo Narita (NRT) 1x Daily

From 18 Nov 2017: Detroit (DTW) – Seoul Incheon (ICN) Alternating Days / 1x Daily from 16 Dec 2017

From 17 Jan 2018: Detroit (DTW) –  Beijing (PEK) Alternating Days / 1x Daily from 23 Feb 2018

The A350 will be primarily replacing Boeing 747 and Airbus A330 aircraft currently used on these routes. Passengers will experience a layout consisting of 32 seats in the Delta One cabin, 48 seats in Delta Premium Select, and 226 seats in the Main Cabin. As Delta states on their website,

Throughout the aircraft, customers will find free seatback in-flight entertainment on high definition screens, in-seat power ports at every row, high capacity overhead bins, and next generation 2Ku internet connectivity. Customers flying on the A350 will also benefit from larger windows and optimized cabin pressure, temperature and humidity to feel more refreshed after a longhaul flight.”
