Facebook has announced they will be bringing a whole new dimension to live videos: 360-degree video.

With Live 360, viewers of a livestream can pan around to any viewpoint they wish in a livestream, immersing themselves into the experience.

On December 13, 2016, at 8:00z, National Geographic will feature the first Live 360 video from the Mars Desert Research Facility located in Utah.

Developers can look forward into tapping into an API that is being developed for the current Live API. All pages and profiles will soon be able to also utilize Live 360 in the start of 2017.
